Sidewalk Prevention Message: Today’s sidewalk sign encourages safe disposal of unused or expired medications. These medications in the home can pose a serious risk, especially to children and teens. Deterra drug deactivation pouches were provided for free to make it simple to safely and permanently dispose of medications right at home.

We had a great time at the Offutt Advisory Council’s Picnic at Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Ranch!

Our team completed bike helmet fittings for elementary through high school youth and connected with hundreds of community members by sharing resources like UV-detecting bracelets, bug spray, bike reflectors, and more.

Thank you to the Offutt Advisory Council for having us—and a special thank you to all those who serve in the military and to your families for all you do!

🦟🌿 Mosquitoes and ticks are already active across our area, and our surveillance season is underway!

Our team has begun monitoring mosquito populations using traps and tracking tick activity to help identify potential public health risks. The photos below show some of the tools we use.

As you enjoy time outdoors, remember to protect yourself and your family:

✔️ Use an EPA-registered insect repellent
✔️ Wear long sleeves and pants when possible
✔️ Check yourself, children, and pets for ticks after spending time outdoors
✔️ Remove standing water around your home to help reduce mosquito breeding

Taking a few simple precautions can help prevent bites and reduce the risk of mosquito- and tick-borne diseases.

Care doesn’t happen alone.

Men’s health is shaped by relationships – partners, families, caregivers, friends and communities at every stage of life.

When men are supported via connection, education and shared advocacy, they seek care, stay engaged, and live healthier, longer lives.

This Men’s Health Month, recognize care as a partnership – because stronger connections lead to stronger health outcomes.

We had a wonderful time partnering with Whispering Roots to bring food demonstration classes and nutrition education to our communities in Bellevue, Papillion, Gretna, Weeping Water, Elmwood, and Eagle! 🥕🍅

Participants watched live cooking demonstrations, sampled the featured recipes through taste tests, picked up nutrition tips, and went home with a fresh produce box and meal kit so they could recreate the recipe at home.

Thank you to Whispering Roots and everyone who helped make these classes possible. We loved connecting with community members through healthy eating education and delicious, nutritious food!
