Ya know, I didn’t think it could get much worse than a ballroom.

Using OUR taxpayer dollars for a G-D ballroom when people can’t afford gas or groceries is Marie Antoinette-level egregious, but I think this may just take the cake.

Now we have a president who sued his own IRS, then negotiated a deal with his own DOJ and dropped the charges, but only on the condition that they NEVER investigate ANY tax claims related to him, his family, or his businesses up to the date of the settlement. Lest we forget, this is the same guy who was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records. But hey, nothing to see here!

Oh—the attorney general who oversaw this entire charade? Just the president’s former personal lawyer. Totally unbiased and nonpartisan. 🙄

As part of this deal, the president also gets a formal apology from the United States for hurting his feelings ANDDDDD—*drumroll please*—a $1.776 BILLION slush fund for victims of “lawfare,” aka, allies and loyalists, including but not limited to the darling insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

How patriotic.

Roughly 1600 people faced federal charges for their involvement on January 6th. If every one of those people files a claim, that amounts to what?

Only a smooth $1.1 MILLION per person.

For some perspective, wanna know how much the federal government pays in a death gratuity for service members who die on active duty?

$100,000.

So you’re telling me the people who sh*t all over the Constitution (literally, they spread f***s all over the Capitol building) are rightfully entitled to TEN TIMES the compensation allotted for service members who sacrificed their LIVES defending the same Constitution??

Raise your hand if, instead of ballrooms, and shady deals, and AI data centers, and tax cuts for billionaires, and senseless wars, and million-dollar immigration ad campaigns with horses and make-up, and road trip reality shows, and private scuba excursions in Hawaii, and locker room Olympic parties, and steak and lobster for cabinet members . . .

You want YOUR hard-earned tax dollars to go to healthcare, national parks, cancer research, science, clean air and water, food for the hungry, veterans, education, mental health initiatives, social safety nets, and more amazing NASA moon missions.

And raise your hand if you are sick and tired of the most corrupt, incompetent, nepotistic people in this country getting to make the choice for you.

Woooohoooo!!!!

We did it, together!

This victory belongs to every volunteer, supporter, encourager. Every neighbor who shared their story and every voter who put their trust in our vision for a different future.

We know what’s possible when we build coalitions.

Now, let’s take this momentum all the way to November. We’re just getting started!! 👊🇺🇸

I am incredibly honored to announce that Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun and Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry have officially endorsed my campaign for Congress ahead of the Primary! 🇺🇸

These two Mayors lead with integrity and a focus on results. They understand that our communities need fighters who show up every single day.

I am committed to bringing that mindset to Washington D.C. to deliver for the hardworking people of this district.

Thank you, Mayors, for your service and your support!

The President was on social media threatening war crimes and escalating global tensions, and our representative remains silent.

As a matter of fact, he’s been silent about Iran all together!

Mr Messmer, part of your job is to be a watchdog. To be a check and balance. Not a complicit yes man.

Our district deserves to know: Do you support this rhetoric, or will you stand up for stability and the law?

Silence is a choice.
We are waiting for a statement.

When Susan first learned her son struggled with addiction, her world split in two. There was the life she thought her son would have: university, a successful career, marriage, and children, and the life he had: bruises, wasting flesh, rotting teeth, and unemployment.

At first, this new frightening reality sat like an elephant on her chest. What had she missed? Where had she failed?

But slowly something shifted.

After nights of crying in silence, Susan realized that guilt would not save her child. Fear would not guide her. Shame would not heal anyone. If she wanted to help, she needed strength--not just for her son, but for herself.

Susan began educating herself. She bought the Jagged series and learned that addiction is not a moral weakness but a complex disease. She attended support groups where other parents shared stories that echoed her own heartbreak. In these rooms, she stopped feeling alone. She replaced self-blame with understanding. Knowledge became her first form of empowerment.

Then she found her voice.

Instead of tiptoeing around issues, she began having honest, calm conversations with her son. She set boundaries--not out of punishment, but out of love. She learned that supporting someone does not mean enabling them. Saying "I love you and I won't support behavior that harms you" became one of the hardest, bravest sentences she ever spoke.

Susan also rediscovered herself.

For years, motherhood had been her entire identity. Now she realized she needed to nourish her own mental and emotional health. She started therapy. She began walking every morning, letting the rhythm of her steps calm her mind. She reconnected with friends that she had withdrawn from. Taking care of herself was not selfish — it was life support.

The transformation wasn't loud or dramatic.

Susan stopped hiding the struggle from trusted people. She asked for help. She researched treatment options. She learned to sit with uncertainty without letting it consume her. Each small action rebuilt her confidence. She could not control her child's choices, but she could control her response.

Empowerment, Susan discovered, wasn't about fixing everything. It was about standing steady in the storm.

Some days were still hard. There were setbacks, relapses, and moments of doubt. But Susan was no longer paralyzed by fear. And in strengthening herself, she became something even more powerful than a worried mother.

She became an advocate.
She became a boundary setter.
She became a woman who understood that her worth was not defined by her child's struggle.

Through pain, she found courage. Through heatbreak, she found clarity. And through loving fiercely — without losing herself — she empowered not only her son but herself.
