The Town of Pantego is issuing the following statement regarding the incident that occurred on Friday, February 13, 2026, involving a private event at a local business during which gunfire was discharged within our community.
First and foremost, we recognize how deeply unsettling this event has been for our residents. We share those concerns and take them very seriously.
The Town of Pantego has taken immediate action by revoking the business’s Certificate of Occupancy. As a result, the business is no longer operating within the Town of Pantego. The Pantego Police Department Criminal Investigation Division continues to actively investigate this incident and is seeking assistance from the community. Anyone with information that may help identify suspects or witnesses is encouraged to come forward. The safety and well-being of our community remains our highest priority.
We appreciate the public’s patience as the investigation continues. While certain details cannot be released during an active investigation, we are committed to providing updates as information becomes available.
Residents are welcome to attend the next Town Council meeting on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Although this matter is not listed on the council agenda and cannot be discussed during the meeting, public comments may still be made.
Residents with specific questions are encouraged to contact the Mayor’s Office, the City Manager’s Office, or the Chief of Police so concerns can be addressed through the appropriate channels.
