P28/Wagon Road is Now Open to Through Traffic.

The temporary road closure south of Nation’s Bridge Park on P28/Wagon Road is now open. Road crews were able to stabilize the sub-grade and reopen the area to through traffic.

There is extra rock across the highway for the time being, so drivers are asked to use caution and be aware of the uneven surface.

While crews were patching P28/Wagon Road last month, a defect in the road that appeared to be unique to other areas of the highway was discovered.

“Defects in the sub-grade like this are rare, but they do happen and they can cause issues. The good news is we were able to secure the area and stabilize the road – which is why the road was closed until work was finished.”
- Guthrie County Engineer, Josh Sebern

Spring parks update: We will be turning on the water and opening up the Nations Bridge restrooms and shower house and the Lenon Mill restroom on April 15, 2026, weather permitting.
If a cold snap comes through around that time, we may delay those openings. We will keep everyone informed if that April 15 date changes to later.
We will also be opening the Nations Bridge lower campground on April 15, 2026.
Thank you.
