🌧️ RAIN IS ON THE WAY — WE’RE HERE TO HELP!

With rain in the forecast, PVEPD is offering Community Sandbag Assistance tomorrow, Friday, September 4, from 10:30 AM–4:30 PM in front of the Police Department.

Our volunteers will be on hand to help fill sandbags and load them into your vehicle to make getting prepared a little easier.

🏠 Need some extra help? Home delivery assistance is also available for PVE CARES members who may have difficulty picking up sandbags. To request a delivery, email [email protected].

Stop by, get prepared, and let us do some of the heavy lifting! 💪

School is back in session, and students are on the move!

Drivers, please slow down and stay focused when traveling through school zones and neighborhoods. Use extra caution near crosswalks and school buses, give bicyclists plenty of space, and always yield to children and crossing guards.

A little extra patience and attention can help every student get to and from school safely. Safe trips start with all of us.

🚔 Impaired driving is preventable.

Even one drink can affect your ability to drive safely and put you, your passengers, and everyone else on the road at risk.

As part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, motorists can expect to see increased law enforcement efforts focused on identifying and stopping impaired drivers.

If you plan to drink, plan ahead. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare, or call a taxi. A safe ride home is always worth it.

🚨UPDATE: Recent Luxury Vehicle Thefts🚨

PVEPD Detectives continue to actively investigate the four luxury vehicle thefts reported in Palos Verdes Estates in late July.

We are pleased to report that three of the four stolen vehicles have now been recovered and an arrest has been made in connection with the investigation. Detectives continue pursuing leads, reviewing evidence, and coordinating with regional law enforcement resources.

While we cannot release additional investigative details at this time, significant progress has been made and these cases remain a priority for the Department.
We appreciate the community's assistance and patience while our detectives continue their work. Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to contact the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department Detective Bureau at (310) 378-4211.

On August 5, 2026, at approximately 1:35 a.m., two suspects entered the side yard of a residence in the 3200 block of Via La Selva after opening a side gate. This photo is an actual image of the suspects from the resident's surveillance camera.

After the resident heard the suspects in their backyard and yelled that the police were being called, the suspects immediately fled the property and left the area.

We encourage residents to help protect their homes by ensuring gates, doors, and windows are secured, keeping exterior areas well-lit, and making sure surveillance cameras are functioning properly. Staying alert and reporting suspicious behavior helps us keep Palos Verdes Estates safe.

Our detectives are actively investigating this incident and are working to identify the suspects and any vehicle they may have used. If you have any information related to this incident or believe you may have surveillance footage from the area, please contact Detective Sergeant Venegas at 310-378-4211.
