We are a volunteer based organization that provides members with useful training and skills to help better serve the community. This is a good way to spend free time and gain experience towards a community service position (Police/Fire Fighter). You will receive useful training that may be applied to your future career choice and the only thing we ask is that you participate in a majority of sched

uled local events and also be prepared to respond incase of natural disasters or emergencies. Duties:
Rehab work with Orland Fire (Set up rehabilitation tents to provide water and check vital signs to Fire Fighters that have just come out of a fire)
Traffic Control and Security for Various Events
First Aid
Provide Assistance In Natural Disasters

Training Includes:
First Aid
Search and Rescue
Handcuffs
Defensive Driving
Traffic Control
NIMS
Self Defense
FEMA Training
Storm Watching

We've seen many instances of gloves, wipes and masks littering parking lots in Orland Park. Please throw your items into a trash can after use. The grocery store employees that handle your food shouldn't be responsible for cleaning up after you.

A class is forming and looking for volunteers to join Orland Fire Protection District, IL CERT program! It is a Great class to be apart of. No background training needed for this class! It is a great way to get involved within your community and help your fellow neighbors out! Classes are Monday evening for 8 weeks. Classes begin February 5th. Please contact Lt. Northern Illinois and northwest Indiana will avoid a major winter storm this holiday weekend, but some travel impacts are likely at times. Rain will mix with snow Friday and turn to snow area wide Friday night. Light accumulations are possible, best chances across north central Illinois.

Mostly cloudy conditions will be found on Saturday, with some fog possible in snow covered areas. Overnight into early Christmas Day features a setup favorable for fog, freezing fog and or freezing drizzle. Temperatures warm slowly Christmas Day with lighter rain/drizzle. The best chance for more organized rain will hold off unti Christmas night with very mild conditions.

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for much of northern Illinois and portions of northwest Indiana, beginning this afternoon and continuing through Sunday evening. A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued for areas of east central Illinois and portions of northwest Indiana. This will be a long duration event, and there will be periods of heavy snow. There may be isolated higher amounts in the warned area. Areas south of Interstate 80 may see a mix of rain and snow Sunday afternoon. Low visibility and hazardous travel is expected area wide. Please monitor for forecast updates, and consider altering travel plans this weekend.

A winter storm watch was issued for areas north of I-80. Snow will begin across the region late Saturday afternoon and continue through Sunday night. Areas south of I-80 may see a mix of rain and snow Sunday afternoon, which will limit snow totals and create slushy roads. Low visibility and hazardous travel is expected area wide. Please monitor for forecast updates, and consider altering travel plans this weekend. Dangerous cold is possible mid next week.

***FEW SPOTS LEFT....***The Orland Fire Protection District is hosting a new Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training class starting Tuesday, September 27th, 2016. The class will be held for eight consecutive Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Orland Fire Administration building (located at 9790 West 151st Street, Orland Park, IL 60462). The class is limited to residents of the Orland Fire Protection District and the minimum age to participate is 18.
The CERT Program is a national program that runs through FEMA that educates individuals about disaster response skills, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
