Social isolation can be as harmful to your health as smoking 15 ci******es a day. For many older adults in our community, lack of digital access is a major barrier to staying connected with family, friends, and doctors.
Barriers like the cost of high-speed internet or feeling intimidated by new technology often stand in the way. Pathlights’ TechWise program trains older adults on computer basics and connects participants with available low-cost internet options.
We’ve seen the impact firsthand: over 90% of our participants achieve their goals and, most importantly, form lasting friendships along the way.
Digital equity is more than just a connection—it’s a lifeline.
Share this post to spread the word about digital equity.

It’s Funding Friday and we are talking about one of the most important conversations happening in the Chicago Southland right now.

Where you live affects everything. Your health, your ability to work, your quality of life and the quality of life of your entire community. The Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Committee is hosting an expert-led Affordable Housing Discussion on June 16, 2026 at the 1916 Business and Media Center in East Hazel Crest to dig into exactly that connection.

Affordable housing is not just a real estate conversation. It is a workforce conversation. It is a healthcare conversation. It is a community development conversation. This discussion brings those threads together with experts who understand what housing stability means for the Chicago Southland and what needs to happen to build healthier, thriving communities across the region.

If you are a business owner, healthcare professional, community advocate, or civic leader this is a discussion worth being part of.
