The mission of Friends of the Palo Alto Parks is to work with the City of Palo Alto, with private groups, with other non-profits, and with citizen organizations to have the best possible parks and open spaces in our city! Our Vision
The goal of Friends of the Palo Alto Parks is to work with the city of Palo Alto, with private groups, with other nonprofits, and with citizen organizations to have th

e best possible parks and open spaces in our city. To achieve this goal, the organization has three main objectives:

•Provide funding to enrich, enhance, and beautify Palo Alto’s parks and open space preserves
•Foster greater public awareness, appreciation, and ownership of these treasured assets
•Raise funds to assist in purchasing additional parkland and open space

Did You Know
Palo Alto has over 32 parks and open spaces totaling more than 4,200 acres. For a complete list of the parks, their history and amenities, and a locator map, see the booklet Parks of Palo Alto, a joint publishing effort between Friends of the Palo Alto Parks and the Palo Alto Historical Association. Did you know that Cameron Park is getting a new playground?

The Cameron Park Renovation Capital Improvement Project will focus on the replacement of the existing tot lot playground, the addition of a connective concrete walkway to address accessibility needs, the addition of a new picnic area adjunct to the playground and the replacement of the site furnishings including tables, benches and drinking fountains.

In partnership with New Museum of Los Gatos, please join a Santa Clara County Park Interpreter for a nature walk along Los Gatos Creek (10am-11am) on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:30-11:45am.

Find refuge in the sights and sounds of Los Gatos Creek as you discover the local plants🌱 and animals🐇. Afterwards, join a tour of NUMU’s latest art exhibition, The Hiking Club: A Vocabulary of Yearning featuring artist Linda Simmel (11am-11:45am).

"The Canopy Tree Awards are back! After a hiatus since 2020, we are excited to revive this annual tradition.

On September 9th, 2023 join us for a free community celebration dedicated to our 2023 Canopy Tree Awardees and the volunteers, partners, and supporters who help grow healthy trees and healthy communities. Hosted at the Bloomhouse in East Palo Alto, festivities will include indoor/outdoor mingling and games, refreshments, interactive displays, and a brief program toasting our 2023 Awardees and their contributions.
