Olenka is thrilled to be a judge at this year's JA Europe event for its first Inclusion Impact award. Nominated for 5 Nobel Prizes for its impact on Europe’s youth entrepreneurship and work-readiness nonprofits, JA Europe reaches 7.5 million youth each year with learning experiences across Europe through schools, universities, and blended learning programs. Silicon Valley may have met its match with these young leaders and we wish them much success in shaping a better world for us all!

Thank you, Governor Gavin Newsom! We needed that.

Thank you, Governor Gavin Newsom! We needed that.

👏 Good news out of Sacramento this morning.

Governor Newsom's May Revision budget proposal for the fiscal year starting July 1, protects developmental services with zero cuts, even as the state navigates real fiscal pressure and uncertainty around federal funding.

What that means in plain terms:

→ $21.6 billion proposed for developmental services next year, a $2.8 billion increase
→ Full funding to serve nearly 527,000 Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities, about 39,700 more people than this year
→ New investment in a statewide clinical needs assessment tool so that where you live doesn't determine what services you can access
→ Funding to implement the federal Home and Community-Based Services Access Rule, including a new grievance process for families

For our community, this is meaningful. It says the people we serve, and the families who love them, are not negotiable line items.

The Legislature has until June 15 to act. We'll be watching, advocating, and grateful for every leader who keeps showing up for this community. 💙

Not only does this sound like a blast but, among MANY initiatives Redwood City Parks & Arts Foundation takes on, they provide activities, music, awesome Kindness Ambassadors for the Magical Bridge playground in the City of Redwood City. Please support them.
