The Mayor's Office

The Mayor's Office Just another “unofficial” Borough of Palo Alto Fb page. I’m hoping to manage a user friendly page that shares Borough information in a timely manner.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of former Pottsville Mayor John D.W. Reiley. He was a nice man, and a good mayor. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family and all of those who were close to him.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed but the old Brok-Sel mini market seems like there’s never a car in the lot. I just stopped in and checked it out. New lunch meat cooler stocked, new grab and go deli cooler stocked with daily made subs, fruit bowls, health drinks etc. There is a new self serve coffee station with coffee that’s hot (which is more than I can say for Turkey Hill). A new frozen food freezer stocked with ice cream, all your general frozen food items priced really well in my opinion. To***co and v**e products priced at or under state minimum. They have everything Brok-Sel had plus much more, in a totally remodeled, clean building minus the expired sell by dates.

When I told the owner I was surprised they have so much inventory, and that for some reason I assumed they weren’t doing lunch meat anymore, that was it. I lost 20 minutes of my life, she literally showed me every product line, every new piece of equipment, told me everything they did to the building, everything they are planning to do yet, I was behind the counter, in the freezer, the bathroom, I saw their security cameras, their office, the new painted lines on the parking lot. 😂

They are very nice people, they did a good job with the place. I will be going there regularly and I urge anyone who used Brok-Sel as a regular stop to do the same. It’s no longer Brok-Sel, it’s better.

I was made aware today that it’s likely not all residents of Pally will receive trash removal service as scheduled today(8/13/21). As the new company in charge of Pally works out the bugs, anyone who doesn’t have their trash removed today can expect it gone tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

I actually just got the news of Dan Lubinski’s passing today. He passed away on June 17th, I had no idea. Dan was a Pally boy and a friend of mine. I’m at a loss for words. Dan was a solid, honest, good man in every aspect of what it means to be a man. Be it friend, husband, father, son, the standard is set with Dan. My deepest condolences to his children, Cindy, his father, his brother Ed, his entire family, and anyone else who will suffer from his loss. We will all miss him. Rest In Peace my friend.
