Police Officer - North Londonderry Township Police Department, Lebanon County, PA

Position Overview:
The North Londonderry Township Police Department is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals to join our police department. North Londonderry Township, located in Lebanon County, serves a growing community with both residential and rural areas. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are passionate about law enforcement and making a difference in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application
• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Be physically and mentally fit to perform all essential job functions of a police officer
• Act 120 certified is preferred, but not required

Salary & Benefits:
The North Londonderry Township Police Department offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
• Starting Salary (2025): $70,332 for probationary officers and Police Academy attendees
• Salary Progression: Top patrolman salary in 2025 is $93,079, with the top salary increasing to $102,697 by 2028
• Lateral Transfers: Applicants who have prior continuance full-time police experience will receive compensation according to the current Police Pay Step Schedule. The applicant's salary will be determined by the number of years of full-time service as a police officer.

Comprehensive Benefits Package:
• Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance – Comprehensive coverage for the employee and eligible dependents, with no employee contribution required
• Retirement: Defined benefit pension plan, with retirement eligibility at 25 years of service and age 50. Vested pension after 12 years. No employee contribution required Employees also have the option to participate in a 457 retirement savings plan
• Paid Time Off:
o Vacation: Paid vacation days, with the option to sell back up to 5 vacation days annually
o Personal Days: 6 paid personal days each year
o Holidays: 9 paid holidays annually
• Tuition Reimbursement: Up to $2,000 per year for continuing education

UPDATE: Our Detective identified the responsible person, a fourteen year old male, and charges are forthcoming.

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, the North Londonderry Township Police Department received multiple vandalism reports of someone damaging trampolines, and a pool, in the Oaks and Londoncroft developments.
The police department believes the vandalism occurred sometime between the late morning and early afternoon on Saturday. We ask that residents with doorbell or surveillance cameras check their systems for any suspicious activity during those times.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, at 10:09 am, North Londonderry Township Police received a call about an attempted bank robbery in progress at Northwest Bank, 1048 E Main St. Police arrived on scene at 10:11 am; however, the suspect was not on scene.

The suspect is a W/M/20s-30s, wearing a dark color hooded sweatshirt and blue brimmed baseball cap. He drove a bright red 2016 or newer Honda Civic four-door hatchback.

The suspect used the drive-thru and used the vacuum system to send a demand note to the teller. The note demanded money and said that the suspect has a bomb.

The suspect did not receive money and eventually fled south on Plaza Dr. The vehicle was last seen driving south on S Forge Road (PA117) towards Horseshoe Pike (US322).

On 9/14/2023 the North Londonderry Township Police arrested Micheal D. Arndt. The arrest comes in connection with a hit & run crash that occurred on February 11, 2023 in the 200 Block of Lewis Road. During the incident, a 21-year-old man was seriously injured. Arndt was charged with the following offenses:

Aggravated assault by motor vehicle; Accidents involving death or injury while not properly licensed; Driving with a suspended driver’s license; Accidents involving damage to property; Reckless driving; Carless driving; Failure to drive in proper lane of travel. ARNDT was taken to Lebanon County Central Booking for arraignment.

We would like to thank all the law enforcement agencies that assisted us throughout this case. A special thanks goes out to the public for their assistance and patience as we worked through this lengthy and detailed investigation.

The Lebanon County Commissioners issued a temporary County-wide burn ban for outdoor burning. The temporary ban goes into effect on Thursday, June 8th, and will continue through July 8th, unless extended. The burn ban includes recreational fires.
