Marion County Commissioners David Lomax, Larry Welch, Lacey Miller and retired Commissioner Steve Begley along with donating landowners Kris and Tracy Graupman and MECO Engineering Senior Principal Engineer Jim Bensman celebrated a ribbon cutting for the Graupman Bridge on County Road 230 this past Monday.

They also celebrated the ribbon cutting for the Big Branch Bridge on County Road 281 with donating landowners Dean Redd, Darin Redd, Sarah and Kevin Edmunds, and family friend Pat Thomas shortly after holding the first one.

This makes three bridge replacements this year for Marion County by participating in MoDOT’s BRO program. Approximately 26 bridges have been replaced in Marion County since 1995 using this valuable program.

Please drive safely on Veterans Road over the next few weeks. Marion County is taking advantage the MoDOT's LTAP grant program and having overhead lights installed from Paris Gravel Road to West Ely Road. There will be construction workers on Veterans Road, and we want everyone to be safe while doing their work and while on their way to work. We are happy to see progress being made!
