From the Fluvanna County Public Schools Superintendent:
(Fluvanna County, Virginia) – Fluvanna County Public Schools announces an update from the initial communication on January 10, 2025, regarding the PowerSchool cybersecurity incident. As a reminder, we shared at that time that with PowerSchool’s help we would provide more information and resources (including credit monitoring or identity protection services, if applicable) as they were made available. Fluvanna County Public Schools are pleased to report that we now have new resources to share!

IMPORTANT! If you were a Fluvanna County Public Schools staff member or student between the years 2000 and 2024, your information may have been part of this incident. If your information was compromised, PowerSchool is offering two years of free identity protection services. For adult students and educators, this offer will also include two years of complimentary credit monitoring services. You must enroll by May 30, 2025, to receive the two years of free service.
Powerschool is consulting with Experian, a global tech data and analytics company, who will attempt to contact those impacted (using the email addresses that were impacted) with the same information we have outlined above. Experian will reach out to staff and students who are 18 years old or older. For minors, Experian will reach out to the email address of the student's primary contact.
