led by Diana Shoemaker a longtime leader in Manatee County community and educational program development and services. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of Elders Action Network, a national advocacy organization bringing elders to address issues of climate change, social justice and sound democracy.

Then… Break-out sessions: rotating 15-minute intervals, group participation encouraged
Activism -led by Dr. Liv Coleman – Resident of Manatee County, local activist with Indivisible Manatee, and former Florida State House candidate in 2018, Liv teaches political science and international studies at University of Tampa.
Advocacy -led by: Deb Pierce + Bob Fine – Deb and Bob have been members of Manatee County Democratic Party (MCDP) since 2018. They served in various precinct positions, including chair, and are members of various clubs and caucuses.
Community Issues led by Michael Fleming – Michael is a lawyer with 30 years of experience practicing international law. He has worked on many Democratic campaigns in his home state of Virginia, including the US House of Representatives campaign that successfully flipped a red district to blue!
