Who remembers the days of the card catalog? Take a trip down memory lane by visiting our traveling exhibit at the Braden River Branch Library. This exhibit is full of nostalgia and a great reminder of how we used to search for information before the digital age. You can also learn how Palmetto became home to a Carnegie Library and explore this fascinating piece of local history. On display now through June 29th!

Take a step back in time with this postcard dated September 14, 1915, showing brick roads being laid along 10th Avenue West in Palmetto. The postcard was sent by Mrs. B.H. Higgins and features a message printed by W.E. Robinson & Co. of Palmetto:

"It shows actual paving on one of the principal streets. We will have seven miles of brick paving. We have one of the best locations in Florida for a city. Come and help us make it better."

Want to learn more about Palmetto through historic postcards? Join us this Saturday at 10:00 a.m. for a special presentation by guest speaker Jonathan Torkos, "Palmetto in Postcards."
