Hey, KOTR Fam!
This past weekend in Bayside Kids, the children learned about Passover and the Last Supper—and how both point to one powerful truth: Jesus Came To Save. So we wanted to share with YOU! 🤍
As we begin Holy Week and prepare for Easter, we’re inviting you to take a simple and meaningful next step as a family.
Here below is a Passover / Last Supper guide designed to help you create a short, interactive experience together on Thursday of Holy Week.
This is not meant to be complicated or formal, it’s simply a way to slow down and remember what Jesus did.
So.....
⭐️What is this handout?
This guide walks your family through a simplified version of the Passover meal and the Last Supper, using a few key elements:
🐑Lamb
🥖Bread
🌿Bitter herbs
🍇Fruit of the vine
Each one helps tell the story of how God rescued His people—and how Jesus came to rescue us from sin .
⭐️ How to use it (Thursday night)
You can do this during dinner or as a short family moment (10–15 minutes is perfect).
1️⃣ Set the table
Use simple items you already have:
Bread (crackers or toast work great)
Juice
Something bitter (lettuce or a small taste of something strong)
Lamb meat (For the lamb portion, keep it simple; ground lamb is the easiest and most affordable option. You can also use lamb stew meat or shoulder chops if available. If you can’t find lamb, that’s okay; the goal is to remember what it represents, not to make it perfect.)
2️⃣ Read the story together
The handout includes short Bible passages from:
Exodus (Passover)
Matthew (Last Supper)
3️⃣ Walk through each element
As you go, briefly explain:
The lamb → God’s rescue
The bread → Jesus’ body
The cup → Jesus’ blood
The bitterness → the suffering and cost of sin
4️⃣ Ask a couple simple questions
The handout includes “Family Talk” questions like:
Why did God want His people to remember Passover?
What does the Lord’s Supper help us remember?
Let your kids talk—there are no wrong answers here.
5️⃣ End with prayer
Thank Jesus for loving us and coming to save us.
⭐️Keep it simple
This does NOT need to be perfect.
You don’t need special food or a long lesson.
✝️The goal is simply this:
To help your child connect the story of Passover to Jesus and prepare their heart for Easter.
