Earlier today, we kicked off (NSBW) with a Vessel Safety Check (VSC) Blitz at Homestead Bayfront Park And Marina. During the blitz, our vessel examiners (VE) conducted over 30 VSCs.

We encourage everyone getting on the water to get a VSC before embarking on your boating adventure. Our VEs will check to make sure you have all the safety equipment required to ensure you have an enjoyable voyage.

Special thanks to all of our flotilla shipmates who braved the heat to assist our local boating public.

Happy National Volunteer Week!

Did you know that the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary has its own set of awards and ribbons?

As volunteers, Auxiliarists do not receive direct compensation for the time and effort that they donate to the U.S. Coast Guard. The recognition of an Auxiliarist’s service, through the presentation of timely and appropriate awards, is essential to the success of the Auxiliary program as stated in the Auxiliary Manual.

To learn more about the specific awards in the Auxiliary, visit https://join.cgaux.org/awards.php
