United Way of Mat Su

United Way of Mat Su Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED! Our work focuses around strategies to create opportunities for everyone in our community to live a better life.

For thirty-five years as a force for positive change, we have worked to identify and address our community’s most pressing problems. With the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations and strategic partners, we are unique and positioned to make a significant and lasting impact. United Way of Mat-Su works to advance the common good in the Mat-Su by focusing on the building blocks for a good life: quality education that leads to stable jobs, income to support a family, and good health. We are moving people from poverty to possibility, helping kids be all that they can be, and building strong and healthy communities.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE!
Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. We all need help from time to time.

ALICE was never invisible.

We just didn't have the data. Now we do.

More than 101,000 Alaska households were below the ALICE Threshold in 2024. That's not a small issue affecting a few people. It's a reality shaping communities across our state.

The report is out. The conversation has started.

Now let's get to work. Learn more: https://www.unitedwayanc.org/alice

It was a perfect fall day at the Matanuska Experiment Farm and Extension Center!! What a beautiful and valuable asset to our community.

We learned so much about local agriculture, food security and production, native plants, experimental crops and so much more.

Did you know that the Extension offers a variety of in-depth classes for the community? Canning, preserving, mushroom walks…it’s all happening at the Farm.

The Extension also helps manage and maintain our local trail system located at the Kin Win trailhead.

A few notes: Trails are non-motorized! Please stay on marked trails and be a conscientious user. If you’d like to visit the Farm grounds, look for scheduled guided tours and walks. Please note that farm property and gardens are NOT accessible outside of working hours or by appointment-public use trails are!

Thank you so much to the amazing hardworking staff at the Extension. This is one of our favorite places and we love to see what’s growing!
