Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation

Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation The MatSu Trails and Parks Foundation is dedicated to keeping our valley Wild, Accessible, and World-Class. Our Wild spaces are what makes the MatSu unique.

We believe that beautiful parks, open spaces, and well-maintained trails are at the very foundation of a healthy community. Countless outdoor activities help drive our local economy – attracting thousands of visitors every year, increasing the quality of life, driving better health outcomes, and increasing property values for those who call the MatSu home. Our Accessible parks and trails allow ev

eryone to enjoy the outdoors--from newborns to seniors, regardless of their ability. The result of our work is healthier and more active residents and more connected local neighborhoods. Our World-Class trails allow residents and visitors to enjoy the diverse landscape of our valley. Hikers, equestrians, sportsmen, cross-country skiers, bicyclists, mushers, snowmobilers, ATV riders, photographers and more can experience the best outdoor areas in the world on trails that consider their unique needs. Please join us in keeping the MatSu Wild, Accessible, and World-Class. Visit Matsutrails.org for more information.

We’d like to share that 100% of the proceeds from our Hatcher Pass Bundle in our online silent auction will be donated to the Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center’s Dylan Lenzie Scholarship Fund.

Dylan was a deeply respected member of Alaska’s outdoor community whose passion for avalanche education, guiding, and mentorship impacted countless people across the Mat-Su and beyond. He worked with HPAC as a pro observer and instructor and also shared his knowledge through NOLS and the Alaska Avalanche School. Dylan tragically passed away in an avalanche accident while guiding in April 2026.

In Dylan’s memory, HPAC is establishing an annual scholarship fund to support aspiring avalanche professionals pursuing careers in guiding, avalanche education, and forecasting, reflecting Dylan’s commitment to mountain safety and community.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support this effort and honor Dylan’s legacy through this year’s auction.

If you would like to learn more or contribute directly to HPAC’s fundraising efforts, please visit: https://hpavalanche.org/donate/

Thank you for supporting Alaska’s outdoor community and helping continue Dylan’s impact for future generations.
