The recent fire at Cobalt Apartments in Wesley Chapel is an important reminder: your apartment’s insurance does not cover your personal belongings.

Some apartment complexes may require liability insurance, but you should also consider purchasing personal property insurance to help protect the things you own.

Take a few minutes to prepare:
📸 Take photos or videos of your belongings
📝 Create a personal inventory
📄 Keep important documents in a safe place
🛡️ Ask about purchasing personal property insurance

Here is a deeper look into the intense, hands-on training our members go through to master our new Dräger SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) systems.

These new air packs officially went into service earlier this month, and our team has been putting in the work day in and day out to get fully acclimated. We want to extend a huge thank-you to all of our members for their dedication, focus, and hard work during this transition.

Continuous training ensures that when the call comes in, our responders are operating with the best equipment and the sharpest skills so they are ready to protect and serve our community in their time of need!

🚨 Training in Progress 🚨
This month, Palm Harbor Fire Rescue is partnering with Tarpon Springs, East Lake, Oldsmar, and Dunedin Fire Rescue for multi-agency Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT).
Our crews are sharpening their driving precision, spatial awareness, and navigation through congested areas to ensure fast, safe responses when seconds count. (6 days of training- 194 successful drivers through the course)
Quick Reminder: When you see lights and hear sirens, please safely pull over and come to a complete stop!

Major Equipment Upgrade for Palm Harbor!

We are proud to announce that Palm Harbor Fire Rescue has officially made the switch to the brand-new Dräger PSS AirBoss SCBA!

Palm Harbor is currently the only fire department in the entire state of Florida operating with these state-of-the-art air packs.
Compared to our previous SCBA, the Dräger AirBoss is lighter, highly ergonomic, and built to drastically reduce physical strain on our firefighters in the field.

Upgrading to this cutting-edge technology means better comfort, improved mobility, and enhanced safety for our crews while serving our community.

E68 Lt. Petrone, FF/PM Pfalz, FF/PM Bennett and PIO Liz Willi visited Creative Learning Academy of Palm Harbor yesterday for some hands on water safety education!

The children learned about staying safe in and around the water and were fitted for and had the chance to try on and get sized for their new life jackets. In total, 30 life jackets went home with the children.

Giving children the opportunity to wear and get comfortable in a life jacket helps make it familiar and a little less scary before they need it.

After responding to a local resident’s home several times, T67 B Shift recognized a need that went beyond the emergency itself.

Our crew is built a wheelchair ramp to help make getting in and out of the resident’s home safer and easier.

Proud of our T67 B Shift crew for taking care of one of our own community members.

Thinking about purchasing an e-bike for your student? Check out this "Know before you Buy" video from FDOT for the proper safety measures to take.

Always remember to NEVER charge an e-bike that was just used. The battery is, TOO HOT and could start a fire.

Wait for the battery to cool down to charge and always keep an eye on a charging e-bike.

Unplug when fully charged and never charge at night when you are sleeping.
