World Affairs Council of the Desert The World Affairs Council of the Desert, a non-partisan and non-profit organization, provides a unique opportunity for the discussion of world affairs.

In "normal" times, from October through May each season, the World Affairs Council of the Desert provides dinner/speaker events at Indian Wells Country Club in Indian Wells, California. Speakers have expertise in their field and topics include current world and national issues of today.

The World Affairs Council of the Desert (worldaffairsdesert.org), an established non-profit organization, seeks a candidate who can be a successor to the current Director who is retiring after seven years of service.

This is a part-time position requiring 25-30 hours per week. A flexible combination of Palm Desert office and work-from-home locations plus the Council has approximately 10 events during the desert season (November - April) which the successful candidate is expected to organize and oversee.

The Director of Operations position primarily involves administrative duties. A fully qualified candidate will have the following skills and experience:
• Excellent writing, communication and organization skills
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), Constant Contact and others
• Financial management - familiarity with QuickBooks Online
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
