As the Fourth of July approaches, we are reminded that freedom was never free.
This holiday is a time to celebrate our country, but it is also a time to remember the men and women who served, sacrificed, and gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.
Wolf River Cemetery in Pall Mall is the final resting place of generations of local families, veterans, and Sergeant Alvin C. York, one of the most decorated American soldiers of World War I. These peaceful grounds hold an important part of our community’s story and our nation’s history.
The Wolf River Cemetery Association depends entirely on private donations to provide mowing, trimming, landscaping, seasonal cleanup, and general care throughout the year. Our 2026 fundraising goal is $9,000, and every dollar donated goes directly toward maintaining the cemetery.
There are no salaries, no paid staff, and no overhead expenses.
This Fourth of July, please consider making a donation to our GoFundMe in memory of those who have fallen, in honor of those who served, and in gratitude for those who came before us.
A donation of any amount, or simply sharing the fundraiser, can help preserve Wolf River Cemetery for future generations.
Thank you for helping us honor the past and care for this special place.
