Jabalia Municipality announces the start of joining procedures to Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU)
Jabalia Municipality mayor, Eng. Mazen AL-Najjar, declares the start of joining procedures to join CMWU, clarifying that the decision has come after detailed research and discussion to activate the role of CNWU as a provider for water and sanitation services in Gaza Strip.
Jabalia Municipality mayor, Eng. Mazen Najar, stresses that we announce this important plan which is considered as a strategic shift, aiming primarily to provide Jabalia Municipality residents environmentally integrated and safe water and sanitation services throughout the optimum utilization of available resources and creative solutions.
This comes after a prolonged and beneficial meeting with CMWU manager, Eng. Monther Shelaq, with the attendance of municipality deputy, Eng. Yusuf Khila, the legal counsel, Mr. Khatab Shehab, the director of water and sanitation department, Eng. Hamdi Mutair, and the director of Finance department, Mr. Wisam Masoud.
The two parts discuss the requirements of board of directors' decision to invite Gaza municipalities to rejoin CMWU, especially Gaza and Jabalia municipalities.
Moreover, Jabaila municipality mayor, Eng. Mazan Najar, says that the decision of joining CMWU comes within the framework of a strategic plan to improve the quality of water and sanitation services to benefit the citizens and the municipality.
He also adds that minacity of local government has established a committee which includes many municipalities to study the possibility of joining CMWU. Then, it decides starting preparing a plan to transfer water and sanitation departments in the municipalities to CMWU.
