What a way to kick off our first Board of Education meeting of the school year! Last night, we had the honor of celebrating some inspiring students and staff who embody what it means to go Above and Beyond. ⭐️

The Marion Jordan News Crew started the night with the Pledge of Allegiance, and our community got to hear about their engaging broadcasts that keep MJ informed and energized.

Next, we applauded five middle school leaders who dedicated 12 volunteer hours to guide younger classmates during our Dual Language Culture Camp. Serving as Spanish language leaders, they helped students explore the rich traditions of Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, and Puerto Rico through art, games, reading, and author visits. Thank you for leading by example!

We also celebrated Gray M. Sanborn kindergarten teachers Deb Goode and Trisha Leu, who stepped up to rally Sanborn staff for weekly visits to a neighborhood within the GMS boundaries. Together, they delivered food, books, and treats, all while building meaningful relationships and keeping our school community strong all summer long.

We are so proud of the heart and leadership shown by these D15 students and staff members! 💙

Vaccination clinics are made possible through funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health and are provided by CIMPAR.

Yesterday’s Meet the Teacher was a total success! Our elementary students did a fantastic job finding their classrooms, dropping off supplies, and getting to know their teachers.
