Shower and storm chances spread from West to East after midnight on Sunday morning. Some of Sunday's storms could produce heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts, so WPC and SPC have issued Marginal Risks for portions of our forecast area. Expect cooler than normal temperatures on Monday and Tuesday, but stormy weather returns for the second half of the work week.

06/12/2026

A humid airmass is expected ahead of a cold front today, and any storms that develop will likely produce torrential downpours. Isolated instances of flash flooding cannot be ruled out, especially in areas such as SE KY that may experience multiple rounds of storms.

06/12/2026

After tonight's river valley fog develops, our attention turns towards a weakening line of storms approaching from the N/NW tomorrow morning. The cold front responsible for that activity should spark additional showers/storms in tomorrow afternoon. There will be enough instability for storms in SE KY to strengthen, but the lack of wind shear will limit storms' longevity and organization. The strongest cells could still produce locally damaging wind gusts and torrential rainfall, but a widespread severe weather outbreak is not anticipated tomorrow. Quiet weather briefly returns on Saturday, but rain chances spread back across the entire forecast area on Sunday.
