FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MADISON AVENUE SIDEWALK CLOSURE IN Painesville Township Lake County Ohio

The sidewalk crossing along Madison Avenue at the intersection with Woodworth Avenue east to Virgina Drive in Painesville Township will now be closed along with the roadway until further notice. The Alan Stone Company, Inc., the contractor performing the retaining wall repairs, will need the entire right of way secured to safely perform the work. The work will begin on September 14th and continue as required. The intent is to open the road no later than late spring 2027.

As a result, motorists and pedestrians, bicycles and all other devices will be restricted from crossing along Madison Avenue construction area and must follow the posted detour. All should respect private property and not trespass to circumvent the closed work site. The area will be monitored for violations of this notice.

This office appreciates everyone’s patience as we begin and move through this repair.

EDIT: The closure date for the Bowhall RR crossing has been revised to the week of September 14th.
🚧 Road Closure Alert 🚧
We have received preliminary schedule information from CSX indicating that the Bowhall Road crossing will be closed for a few days, starting on September 8, for repairs. More information will be shared as the date approaches and the schedule is confirmed.
