September 9, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

MADISON AVENUE SIDEWALK CLOSURE IN Painesville Township Lake County Ohio

The sidewalk crossing along Madison Avenue at the intersection with Woodworth Avenue east to Virgina Drive in Painesville Township will now be closed along with the roadway until further notice. The Alan Stone Company, Inc., the contractor performing the retaining wall repairs, will need the entire right of way secured to safely perform the work. The work will begin on September 14th and continue as required. The intent is to open the road no later than late spring 2027.

As a result, motorists and pedestrians, bicycles and all other devices will be restricted from crossing along Madison Avenue construction area and must follow the posted detour. All should respect private property and not trespass to circumvent the closed work site. The area will be monitored for violations of this notice.

This office appreciates everyone’s patience as we begin and move through this repair.

The Lake County Board of Commissioners, has set the date, time, and place for public comment to consider the adoption of the Lake County Comprehensive Plan called “Vision 2050”. The Commissioners will hear public comment during the workshop on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in the Commissioners’ Chambers, Lake County Administration Building, 105 Main Street, Building A, 5th Floor, Painesville, OH 44077. The second and final Household Hazardous Waste Collection of 2026 will be held this Saturday, September 12th, from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Lake County Fairgrounds. For more information, please call (440) 350-2645.

NOTE: tires are not accepted at this collection.

Protect yourself:
• Don’t click links in unexpected MyChart texts or emails.
• Never provide your password, Social Security number, banking information, or credit card information in response to an unsolicited message.
• Access MyChart by using the official app or website you normally use, rather than clicking a link in a message.
• If you are unsure whether a message is legitimate, contact your healthcare provider directly using a phone number you know is valid.

If you receive a suspicious message, don’t respond and don’t click the link.

A few seconds of caution could help prevent someone from becoming a victim.
