Pageland Rescue Squad

Today, September 7, Pageland Rescue Squad, Pageland Fire Department, and Lifeguard EMS were dispatched to E. Maynard Street for a reported golf cart accident with entrapment.

Pageland Engine 2 arrived on scene and found a golf cart that had accidentally flipped into a 6’ foot ravine, with an elderly male trapped underneath. Crews immediately made their way into the ravine to begin patient care.

Upon arrival, Pageland Rescue 1 deployed battery powered extrication spreaders along with the Rescue 1 winch and cribbing to safely lift the golf cart off the patient. The patient was then carefully packaged onto a spine board, secured in a Stokes basket, and carried from the ravine by multiple responders. Once removed, he was transferred to a waiting Lifeguard EMS ambulance for treatment and transport. The patient was transported in stable condition.

This incident is a great example of the teamwork, communication, and coordination required to achieve a successful outcome in a challenging rescue. We extend our sincere appreciation to all responding agencies for their professionalism and commitment to serving our community.

Friday, August 14, 2026, 2:43 p.m. High Point Fire, Pageland Fire, Pageland Rescue, and Lifeguard EMS responded to a reported vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and an overturned car at Highway 601 and Dove Sutton Road.

With Festival Events gearing up tonight, we want to remind the public that there is NO PARKING in front of the bay doors at the Rescue Squad Building. We must be able to get our Vehicles out in case of Emergencies. Vehicles will be towed at owners expense.

Duke Energy will test outdoor warning sirens at each of its nuclear plants tomorrow, July 1. These quarterly tests are part of normal maintenance to ensure sirens are working properly. No public action is required.

Approximate siren test times:
• 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. for Brunswick and Harris Nuclear Plants
• 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. for Oconee, McGuire, and Catawba Nuclear Stations
• 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. for Robinson Nuclear Plant

It is with heavy hearts that the Pageland Rescue Squad announces the passing of 1st Lieutenant Jeremy “GasMan” Johnson.

Jeremy fought a courageous battle with cancer over the past several months, never one to complain and always carrying himself with quiet strength and humility. He earned his EMT-Basic certification and rose through the ranks to 1st Lieutenant and Training Officer, where he played a vital role in shaping the standards, skills, and culture of our Squad.

Jeremy was a decorated officer whose impact reached far beyond the calls he answered. Every patient he encountered was treated with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. His influence on this organization and the members within it will be felt for years to come.

Outside of emergency services, Jeremy faithfully served as a pastor, tending to his flock with the same servant’s heart he showed in every other part of his life.

He will be deeply missed by all of us at the Squad and in the community he served so selflessly. We will honor his legacy by continuing the work he believed in and striving to live up to the standard he set.
