The Pageland Chamber of Commerce is the premiere business organization of Pageland and is supported by members from education, health care, banking, professional services, government, retail and real estate. The Board meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month. Investment dues are paid annually. The Chamber’s fiscal year runs from January 1 through December 31. WHAT IS THE CHAMBER OF COMME
RCE? The Pageland Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization for businesses and professional people dedicated to promoting the civic and economic vitality of their community. Funded by membership investments and Chamber programs, the Chamber is not affiliated with local government or accountable to any other organization. The Chamber works for a healthy economic climate of good jobs, capital creation, and honest and efficient government. The Chamber’s strength lies in the number and diversity of its membership. Because the Chamber collectively embodies the vast expertise of many businesses and professionals in its membership, it has the knowledge and insight to identify issues of importance to the business community and combines the means to divest and implement strategies to address them. The Chamber accomplishes collectively what no one business or professional can do alone. HOW DOES THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WORK? The Chamber of Commerce identifies issues which affect the business community and provides the leadership to respond to them. The Board of Directors and its’ officers determine the Chamber’s goals for the year. These goals are based on what is judged to be in the best interest of the membership as a whole and achieving these goals becomes the programs of action. Member volunteers are organized into committees to fulfill the specific objectives of the program of action. WHAT DOES THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DO? The Chamber of Commerce represents the interest of its membership in the spirit and cooperation with the plan and philosophy of economic development set forth by the community. The programs of the Chamber address those community factors which affect economic development, local government, transportation, education, cultural events, and others. The Chamber of Commerce represents the business and professional interests before elected bodies. Ordinances, legislation, and regulations affecting the business and economic climate are addressed by the Chamber on the local, state and national level. The Chamber also is an organization of opportunity. Through networking events, the Chamber brings its’ membership together and creates opportunities for personal interaction which develops into future business relationships. The Pageland Chamber of Commerce will promote, advance and help maintain the civic, commercial, industrial and agricultural interests in this area; and will work in close cooperation with the local government, civic and welfare organizations in a unified effort to make our area more beautiful, more healthful, more prosperous, and a more desirable place to live.
