Friday, August 7th at 8pm join University of Nevada - Las Vegas physics and astronomy professor Dr. George Rhee for his talk: The Search for the First Stars and Galaxies. Learn about recent developments in astronomy as we use new telescopes to probe back in time to observe the universe as it was billions of years ago when the first stars and galaxies came into existence!

After the lecture, Park Rangers and volunteers will have telescopes set up to get an up close and personal look at the night sky.

Please be aware of your headlights and take care not to shine them at the rangers or telescopes. Children should be accompanied by adults. Pets on leash must keep clear of the telescopes in order to maintain the safety of the tripods.

In the event of cloud cover, rain, lightning, or other poor weather conditions, this event will be cancelled.
