Ruth loved to go fishing, and as recent as just a few months ago. She enjoyed planting a garden and canning the vegetables for her family to enjoy. She sewed clothes for everyone in the family at one time or another, from MoBetta knock off shirts, matching outfits for the grandkids, a wedding dress, prom dresses, and even a quilt for her bed just a couple of years ago. It’s championship Saturday of the prestigious Little River Conference Tournament and both the Paden squads will be battling to bring back hardware to the trophy case.

The Pirates came in seeded 4th but fell to 5th seeded Strother in the first round 26-74. The boys have battled back the last two days and have easily dismantled Macomb, 70-40, and New Lima by a similar score of 70-35, to sail in to the Consolation game at 1:20 with a rematch with the Moss Pirates who they have already handled earlier in the season 60-33.

The Lady Pirates also came in seeded 4th, but everyone found out what we already knew, these ladies came to play this year and easily took care of business in the first round with a 54-19 victory over Strother. The ladies took the court Wednesday night in the semi-finals with another team seeing much success this early in the season, current #11 (and 1 first place vote) Class B and #1 LRC seeded Earlsboro, but ranking isn’t anything but a number as the orange and black handed the wildcats their first class b and conference loss 49-44 and punched their ticket to the championship at 7:00 this evening.

Support your hometown team today, games are at Seminole High School with plenty of seating.
