🚒 Help Us Bring a Piece of Our History Home 🚒

The Paden City Volunteer Fire Company is working toward something very special — bringing one of our original fire engines, a 1937 Dodge fire truck, back to where it belongs.

This isn’t just any truck. It represents the roots of our department, the dedication of those who served before us, and the legacy we continue to carry forward every day.

We are hoping to purchase and restore this historic engine in memory of our fallen Chief, Jim Richmond, honoring his commitment, leadership, and the impact he had on our department and community.

To make this goal a reality, we are asking for your help. We are currently seeking:
• Donations of any amount
• Ideas or opportunities for fundraisers
• Community events we can participate in or host

Every contribution, share, and suggestion brings us one step closer to returning this piece of history home where it belongs.

If you would like to donate or help in any way, please reach out to us directly. Or you can contact me at 304-771-1197

❤️ Thank you for continuing to support your Paden City Volunteer Fire Company — past, present, and future

Paden city volunteer fire company would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the organizations and first responders who rallied around us in our darkest hour, following the passing of our beloved chief Jim Richmond. We were humbled by the overwhelming support of 30 departments and first responder organizations that attended the viewing and funeral services, with some even generously providing honor guard assistance. We are deeply thankful for the unwavering solidarity of our brotherhood and sisterhood. We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to our remarkable community for their kindness and support in every possible way. Jim was a shining legend in the fire service and our tight-knit town, as well as surrounding communities, and his remarkable legacy will continue to inspire us all. He was a highly respected and cherished member of our community.

There are a few things to note for the services of Chief Richmond.

All departments/services are welcome to attend and/or bring trucks. Not all trucks will fit into the cemetery so fire apparatus may be staged along Rt. 2 for the graveside services but please do not let that deter you from coming to honor our Chief.

There will be a dinner following the services at the fire station. Please come and share your memories of this amazing man.

There are not enough words to describe what an incredible person Jim was. We are heartbroken yet so thankful to spend the years learning and volunteering with him.

Jim was the backbone of our department and we will forever have a void in our station from him.

Services are listed below.

The family has requested for everyone to share their memories with Jim on this post or come to the services and celebrate the life of a great man.
