IMPORTANT WEATHER NOTIFICATION
Heavy rain is expected to move into New York City this evening and continue overnight into Wednesday morning. A Flood Watch is in effect, with 1.5 to 4 inches of rain expected, and isolated areas could receive up to 5 inches. Flash flooding may develop quickly, especially in low lying areas, basement apartments, and locations with poor drainage.
If you live in a basement apartment or another location that has flooded before, make a plan now.
The City has opened 51 Safe Overnight Locations across all five boroughs.
