🚒🚑 Today, the 8th Grade Principles of Health Science class, led by Coach Lopez, had the opportunity to tour the Crockett County Fire and EMS Station. Students gained valuable insight into fire and EMS operations.

Chief Eddie Martin and FF/EMT Alyssa Newlin used the time to share their knowledge, experiences, and the importance of training. Opportunities like these provide students with real-world exposure and help inspire the next generation of healthcare and public safety professionals.

8/31/26 1600 Cedar Top Fire

After the morning assessment, one truck with 3 firefighters were dispatched to take care of a couple hot spots. That was quickly tightened up and Chief Martin has deemed this fire out and the incident is closed.

8/31/26 13:30. Crockett Co Fire made an early assessment this morning. The fire activity was extremely minimal. But with wind speed increasing this afternoon, we are sending a fire truck and 3 firefighter out to monitor and extinguish any hot spots. As long as the weather cooperates, this could be the last dispatch for this incident.

8/30/26 18:45 Cedar Top Fire Update

This fire was called under control by Chief Martin. All units have cleared for the evening. Total acreage is estimated at 350. The fire will be assess once again in the morning to make sure fire activity continues to dissipate.

8/30/26 1700 Cedar Top Fire Update:

Crockett Co Fire has four units and twelve firefighters out working this fire today. Fire activity is improving. The firefighters have worked the canyon rims putting out flare-ups and hot spots. Crews will remain on scene a few more hours monitoring some fire activity deep in a canyon with no access.

Message came in from Judge Tambunga to the firefighters. He thanked each and every member that has been working on this wildfire. We appreciate his support, the support of the commissioners, and the support of our community. Your comments and prayers are very appreciated.
