Christian County Health Department

Christian County Health Department Christian County Health Department is a local public health agency with a vision to help the county become an area of safe and healthy people.

In 1968 a public health office was established in Ozark under the auspices of the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation with funding shared by federal government and the Missouri Division of Health. Two years later the Christian County Health Department was created by a vote of the residents of the county. The CCHD is governed by a five member Board of Trustees whom are elected in a non-partisa

n election and serve four-year terms. CCHD receives nearly one half of its funding from county property taxes. Additional funding comes from state contracts. Other funds are generated from fees for services such as water testing, food permits and wastewater permits. CCHD also receives a modest amount of donations both of a general charitable nature and in appreciation for services provided. CCHD contracts with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) for various programs and services. A scope of work must be completed under the terms of each individual contract. As part of its contracts with the state health department, CCHD utilizes state guidelines for employee qualifications, but maintains a separate pay plan. CCHD is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer. Services are provided on a non-discriminatory basis. Clean: Quarterly
Rise your toothbrush off after every use.
Beyond a few months, the bristles get too worn to work as well as they should. If you see fraying before then, that's a sign to switch out with a new toothbrush.

Clean: Monthly
A plastic curtain, or the plastic liner for a cloth curtain, should get a bath with warm water and baking soda once a month to remove soap scum and prevent mildew. You may be able to stretch this to once a quarter if your shower doesn't get a lot of use. Spraying it with a cleaner after every shower and wiping it down weekly when you clean the bathroom will also help.

Splash pads are the real MVP of summer and honestly… they deserve a trophy. 🏆

Free? Usually.
Tires kids out? Beautifully.
Requires very little planning? Bless.
Makes your child instantly forget they were “too hot to walk” 4 seconds ago? A miracle.

It’s the kind of summer outing where the bar is low, the joy is high, and someone will absolutely need a snack the moment their feet hit the parking lot.

So let’s hear it:
What’s your family’s favorite splash pad in the 417?

Bonus points if it has:
✔ shade
✔ bathrooms
✔ a playground nearby
✔ enough water pressure to humble a toddler

Drop your go-to spot below so another 417 parent can survive summer with slightly less sweating and slightly more sanity.

Irritability is a big sign of poor sleep. One study limited people to 4 1/2 hours of sleep a night for a week. The result: More stressed, angry, and mentally exhausted people. They felt better when they returned to their normal schedules. If you’re missing out on shut-eye, your body will soon show the signs. https://wb.md/4ei4TQ1
