In 2024, 47.9 million people in the United States lived in households experiencing food insecurity. That means millions of our neighbors faced times when there simply weren’t enough resources to put the food they needed on the table. And families with children are being hit especially hard. Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. households with children experienced food insecurity.

This is a real client story from a grandmother raising three of her grandchildren, along with her husband with health issues. She tearfully shared her story with us:

"If not for Least of These, I wouldn't be able to take care of my family. We wouldn't be able to eat. Least of These is such a blessing. Everyone there is always so kind and helpful. I've appreciated all of you so much for your help and kindness."

On Sunday, September 13, churches across our community have an opportunity to come together during Hunger Action Month and help provide food and hope for our neighbors facing food insecurity.

There are three ways your church can participate:

🥫 Host a Food Drive:
Collect food for Least of These—we’ll provide the collection bags and barrels.

🧡 Invite Least of These to Your Service:
Let us share about the need right here in Christian County and how your church is helping make a difference.

🙏 Host a Giving Moment:
Allow your congregation to directly help feed local families. We’ll provide giving cards and everything you need to make it simple.

Whether your church chooses one way to participate or goes all in, Least of These Sunday is an opportunity for the Church to put faith into action and care for our neighbors.
