Good morning y'all!
The unsettled pattern rolls along, and I thought I'd dive a little deeper into our pattern this morning.

We will have a cold front slowly slide toward our area from the northeast late today and continuing to slip southward into the weekend. Meanwhile, our winds turn more southwesterly this afternoon as high pressure over the Atlantic moves farther east out to sea. This moves the best rain chances over the next several days toward the FL Panhandle, FL Big Bend, and southwest GA with a slightly different direction of the sea breeze pushing inland. We'll also have an upper-level disturbance moving in from the west today and tomorrow. All of these features plus deep tropical-like moisture will keep rain chances high through the next several days, lingering into early next week. We'll continue piling up the rain totals as well with most seeing 2-4" of rain over the next 7 days. A few may see 6"+ by early next week. Additionally, this persistent southwesterly flow will keep the rip current risk high along all our beaches through Saturday.

Good morning everyone!

The wet pattern rolls along across our area. We've got some showers over the Suwannee Valley and parts of the I-75 corridor as well as near and off the Emerald Coast early this morning. Similar to recent days, we'll see numerous showers and storms develop late this morning and afternoon.

Gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rain are the main threats. We could see some localized flooding in areas that have gotten a lot of rain recently, but the ceiling for heavy rain is lower than it was yesterday. We're thinking about 2-4 inches as the ceiling today in localized spots.

Thus, there wasn't enough coverage/intensity today to extend the Flood Watch. We keep this rain train rolling through early next week.

Good morning,
Corrected Copy!

Flood Watch Issued
A Flood Watch has been issued for much of the Florida Panhandle, southeast Alabama, and portions of southwest Georgia for today through late tonight.

Why the Flood Risk is Elevated:
• Saturated Ground: Heavy rainfall over the last 72 hours has left portions of the region vulnerable to flooding.
• 4 to 7 inches of rain have already fallen across the Panhandle, Apalachicola River Basin, and southeast Alabama. 2 to 4 inches of rain have fallen across extreme southwest Georgia. (see graphic below or attached).
• Incoming Storms: Deep tropical moisture will move into the area today from the south. There is high confidence in widespread storms producing heavy rainfall rates. Additionally, there is a increased risk of training storms today, which could lead to flooding quickly developing.

Rainfall Forecast & Timing:
• Widespread Totals: 1 to 3 inches expected across most of the watch area.
• Localized Totals: 4 to 6 inches, with a 10% chance of isolated areas receiving up to 8 inches.
• Timing: The heaviest rain will fall from late this morning into the afternoon and evening. Flooding threats may persist into the early overnight hours depending on how the storms evolve today.
