We wanted to congratulate our new Certified Firefighter Jaren Sardelich for his hard work and dedication over the past 5 months!!! All the studying, classes, trainings not to mention the time it took away from being with your family has led to such an awesome accomplishment.

You came, you saw, you learned, and are now a Certified Firefighter!

We are so proud of all that you have accomplished and look forward to working with you to help keep our community safe from fires.

We wanted to shout out THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported us this past Saturday at our Crawfish Boil! We had such a great time interacting with our citizens and supporters! We can always depend on you guys to show up and show out! Thank you for coming out, hanging out, and taking time out of your day to get to know us! We appreciate you!!

We would not have been able to do this without our volunteers, friends, families, the community and our great sponsors!

Sweet T's Diner and La Muchacha's have always been great sponsors! They are always the first to come through and ask what they can do to help out! We appreciate you guys more than you could possibly know and we could not do it without you all!

Thank you to our Mayor - Justin Mills for the tasty crawfish! You out did yourself! Our Surfside VFD family (Justin, Kevin, Ash, Ryland, and without you guys we would be lost! Thank you for all you do!

Thank you to Jesse and Nayeli, Hunter and JoBeth, Jaren and Ori, Eddie, Bayleigh, Lexi, and Erik, and Shawn and thank you to Kalei. You guys helped a ton with everything from set up the night before to set up the morning off, filling out donation forms, hanging flyers, selling shirts and cups and 50/50 tickets, to taking money, throwing out trash, setting up, cooking, serving, EVERYTHING ....throughout the week leading up as well as throughout the day and again without you all we would be lost. AND for the most part we did it all with smiles on our faces..LOL. Thank you to all of our families at home that allow us the time away from our families to put on these events. Your patience does not go unnoticed. We love and appreciate you!

We will be out and about on May 2nd supporting Surfside VFD BBQ Fundraiser from 11am - 2pm. We hope to see you there and then we will see you guys again for OUR OWN BBQ Fundraiser in August!

Come see us TOMORROW (Saturday 4/18) rain or shine!! Plant preordered call in (see number on bottom of flyer) will be ready at 11am. Open to public at Noon until we sell out! $10 per lb includes lb of crawfish, 1 corn, 2 potatoes, mushrooms, a bottle of water, and a dessert!!

🔥 Burn Ban Lifted in Brazoria County 🔥

The Brazoria County Burn Ban has been lifted effective today, March 12, 2026.

With recent rainfall and improved conditions, outdoor burning is now permitted. However, residents are still encouraged to use caution when conducting any outdoor burning and to remain mindful of changing weather and dry vegetation.

Please burn responsibly and always keep safety in mind.

The burn ban, and what it means to you.

Burn Ban in Effect in Brazoria County

In response to escalating wildfire concerns caused by extremely dry vegetation and environmental conditions, and a recent outbreak of out of control wildfires, Brazoria County has issued an immediate burn ban for all unincorporated areas of the county.

The burn ban is a proactive measure designed to reduce the risk of wildfires that could ignite easily under current conditions and spread rapidly due to dry fuels and the potential for high winds.

Effective immediately, the burn ban prohibits all forms of outdoor burning, including but not limited to:

Open fires
Debris burning
Controlled or prescribed burns
The ban applies to the burning of all combustible materials outside of a secured enclosure that effectively contains flames and sparks.

Permitted Activities:

Enclosed BBQ pits and grills are allowed under the burn ban, provided they are used safely and attended at all times for cooking use only.
Prohibited Activities:

Open flame fire pits and any outdoor burning that is not fully enclosed are strictly prohibited.
The Brazoria County Fire Marshal’s Office will be monitoring conditions closely over the next 90 days. Should environmental conditions improve, County Judge Matt Sebesta retains the authority to lift the burn ban.

Brazoria County officials urge residents to take this ban seriously and remain vigilant, as even a small spark can quickly lead to a dangerous wildfire under current conditions. Public cooperation is essential to protecting lives, property, and natural resources.
