An Adult Day Health Care Center (ADHC) is a long term care program that allows individuals the choice to remain at home and in the community and aid in the prevention of premature institutionalization. Among Friends ADHC is a community-based program that offers health, therapeutic and social services for adults with physical or mental impairments. We offer a secure, stimulating, structured, and so

cial experience to our patients; and respite relief for the caregivers. We are licensed by the California Department of Health Care Services and certified as a Medi-Cal provider by the California Department of Aging. Our program is designed for the frail elderly and disabled adults 18 years of age and older, who live at home, at residential care facilities, or at intermediate care facilities. The program highlights a four-hour schedule of purposeful, organized activities and provides an enjoyable way to maintain functional capacity. It offers a safe, fun, therapeutic environment for frail elderly or adults who need supervision during the day due to cognitive and/or physical impairments. In addition, our program is designed to provide respite, education, and support to family and caregivers. Among Friends Adult Day Health Care (ADHC) Center opened its doors as the first licensed ADHC facility in Ventura County on March 19, 2001. Since its opening, Among Friends ADHC remains at the forefront of quality services and the largest ADHC in Ventura County. We provide enjoyable, supervised activities, medical care, great hot nutritious meals, and door-to-door transportation— all in a warm, home-like setting of Among Friends ADHC Center. We offer a daytime program with combination of nursing, rehabilitative and psychosocial services in a setting that is enjoyable, emotionally supportive and informal. It brings patients together in a group to promote socialization, provide peer support and strengthen patient self-esteem and motivation for self-care. Our mission is to provide the best quality care to our patients.
