A look at our Saticoy spreading grounds at work! This canal here takes surface water diverted from the Santa Clara River and delivers it to large basins (the ponds you see off of Wells Rd) to replenish the aquifer. The water is also used to provide irrigation to support agriculture in Ventura County.

โคต๏ธDid you know?... Every Water Conservation Release from Lake Piru is released from the dam via a "gravity fed" conveyance system.

A gravity-fed system operates by allowing water to flow downstream naturally with gravity using the elevation change from Lake Piru to the downstream areas. Gravity fed systems are the most cost effective, as they don't rely heavily on electricity!

Have questions about Measure D, the proposed Water Supply, Conservation and Water Bond Measure? Weโ€™re here to help.
We are available to meet with and present to community groups, organizations, and residents throughout Ventura County to explain the measure and answer any questions.

The proposed measure would authorize up to $350 million for three critical water projects:
๐Ÿ—๏ธ Santa Felicia Dam safety upgrades
๐ŸŸ Freeman Diversion improvements
๐Ÿ’ง Extraction Barrier & Water Treatment

If approved, the measure would appear on the November 3, 2026, ballot.
