Oxford Fire Dept. held its monthly drill at Center Station. Members attended and performed forcible entry and roof ventilation drills, and had an overview of our ladder truck (Truck 46).

All 3 Oxford Fire Companies showed up to training night at Riverside Fire Co. and practiced low angle rescue operations. Crews rotated through knot tying, patient packaging, and mechanical advantage systems to safely move a patient up a steep incline.

Firefighters respond to a wide range of emergencies, including motor vehicle accidents. The Oxford Fire Department recently responded to a two vehicle head on collision at the intersection of Route 34 and Punkup Road. Fire personnel assisted Oxford EMS with removing occupants from the vehicles and securing the scene. Cars 1 and 3, Rescue 54, Rescue 44, and Engine 51 responded, along with Oxford EMS and the Oxford Police Department.
