Please keep our friends at Oxford Health System Paramedics in your prayers along with the friends and family of Michelle.

Michelle bravely fought ovarian cancer for 2 years and will be missed in our community!

Remembering Michelle Grippin

Our hearts are very heavy today.

Early this morning, we learned that Michelle Grippin, a member of the OHSP family, a wonderful person, and an excellent, experienced, and compassionate paramedic, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

Michelle was part of the Oxford Paramedics team from day one. Throughout her career, she played an important role in training new team members and was always willing to share her knowledge, guidance, and wisdom with those around her. Her dedication to her patients, her coworkers, and her profession left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.

For the past two years, Michelle courageously battled ovarian cancer and had recently been hospitalized. While we are deeply saddened by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is now free from pain and at peace, and we take solace in the memories she leaves behind and the countless lives she touched.

Late yesterday afternoon, Tom Dixon and Carla Jones visited Michelle at her home. Even during such a difficult time, Michelle was still joking with them about work and sharing the same spirit and sense of humor that so many of us came to know and love. Before leaving, they made certain that Michelle knew just how much she was loved by her Oxford Paramedics family, and that she carried with her the love, respect, and gratitude of everyone on our team.

We ask that you keep Michelle’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We also ask that you remember the members of our team as we mourn the loss of a friend, colleague, mentor, and member of our family.

Michelle’s presence will always be felt within our organization. Her legacy of compassion, professionalism, service, and kindness will continue to inspire us each day and on every call we answer. We know that a part of Michelle will remain with us always.

Rest in peace, Michelle. You will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.

Please keep the family and friends of retired Anniston Fire Chief Louis LeFoy in your thoughts and prayers following his passing yesterday.

Chief LeFoy made a tremendous impact on the fire service throughout our area. Through his leadership and dedication, he helped shape the careers of many firefighters, including several members of the Oxford Fire Department who had the privilege of serving under him at Anniston.

We are grateful for his service and the legacy he leaves behind. Please keep all who knew and loved him in your prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Chief.
