The City of Oxford and City of Oxford, GA Police Department will be hosting a Trunk-or-Treat on October 24th at 3-6pm at 915 Emory Street. 👻

We are looking for individuals, businesses, organizations, churches, or friends who would like to participate to hand out candy. And if you aren't great at decorating, that's ok! Decorating your trunk is encouraged, but it's not required.

If you, or someone you know, would like to participate, please email the Event Manager, Sydney, at [email protected] to sign up.

For the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Oxford College is hosting a Memorial Stair Climb to honor the first responders who served on that day. This is a community-wide event where you're welcome to attend!

Event Details -
Friday, September 11th:
5pm - Opening remarks in Seney Plaza
5:30-8pm - Stair climb in Seney Hall (27 times up and down to approximate the 110 flights of the World Trade Center Towers)

Saturday, September 12th:
7:30am-3:30pm - Service projects at various locations (including the Fuzz Run)
3-4pm - Closing remarks and celebration reception at the Oxford Student Center.

The first one will be on Thursday, September 10th. Stop by the Oxford Farmers Market for your local shopping, and then head over for dinner or just to hear the speaker. The Dining Hall is located at 300 Pierce Street. The Dean’s Dining Room is on the right as you walk into the main entrance of the Dining Hall.

You can help clean up the rivers and then stop by the Autumn Fest at 11am-3pm! A win-win!

Join us on Saturday, September 19 for our 2026 Rivers Alive event! Gather friends and family and help us clean up lakes, rivers, and streams around Newton County. Keep Newton Beautiful will provide free cleanup supplies, breakfast, and t-shirts (while supplies last). We will meet cleanup participants at Longhorn Steakhouse of Covington for breakfast and supply distribution at 9 a.m. After breakfast, teams will head out to cleanup sites to pick up litter in and around waterways. The Oxford Autumn Fest is in September, but with the City of Oxford, GA Police Department we've got a lot planned for October! Be sure to save the dates!

📅 October 10, 11am-3pm – Faith & Blue Event at Asbury Street Park
City of Oxford, GA Police Department is partnering with our local churches and community members for an evening of fellowship, connection, and fun. Chick-fil-A Covington will be on site for purchase.
🎬 October 16, 6:30pm – First-Ever Movie in the Park at Asbury Street Park
Bring your family, friends, chairs and blankets for a fun-filled evening under the stars. Treats Sweets Bar and -fil-A Covington will be on site for purchase. We are looking forward to a great night with our community!
🎃 October 24, 3-6pm – Annual Trunk-or-Treat across from City Hall
This community favorite is always a wonderful opportunity to interact with local children and families while enjoying a safe and festive Halloween celebration. We hope to see everyone there!
