Yesterday, it was a privilege to join St. Thomas Church as they celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the parish, established on September 17, 1966.

The celebration began with a beautiful rededication of the church, following repairs and improvements to the church facilities and campus. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor the 60th Anniversary of St. Thomas Parish and celebrate the continued strength and dedication of its parish community.

A special thank you to Archbishop Emeritus Leonard Blair and Monsignor Ferrari for celebrating Mass and officially blessing and rededicating the church. It was a truly meaningful and memorable occasion.

Thank you as well to the entire parish staff and congregation for their hard work, faith, and commitment to the St. Thomas community.

And a special message to Father Josh — it was great to see you . Please take the time you need to regain your strength and make a full recovery. We look forward to celebrating your full return when you’re ready!

Congratulations to St. Thomas Parish, Oxford on its 60th Anniversary! May God continue to bless this special parish, its congregation, and its ministry for many years to come. 🙏⛪️

Today, we pause to remember the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families and communities forever changed by that day.

We honor the courage of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the heroes who stepped forward when our nation needed them most.

May we Never Forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the unity that brought us together.

🇺🇸 God Bless America 🇺🇸

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the annual Black Hog 5K Road Race!

While I didn’t actually run the race, I was more than happy to take on the very important role of spectator!

What a great turnout and a fantastic day for the community! It was great seeing so many people out there running, walking, and enjoying themselves.

And if you haven’t checked out Black Hog Brewing yet, what are you waiting for? They’re a great local spot and a big part of what makes our community so special.

Congratulations to all the runners—and to everyone who made this year’s race another great one! 👏

Apparently , the Senior Center Picnic came with NO age limit on having fun at our annual picnic which was held at Quassy Amusement Park.

It was a day filled with rides, laughter, good food, and great company—with a little competition over who was brave enough to ride what!

Everyone let their inner kid out and had an absolute blast! 🎢🎡

What a FUN day for all! Already looking forward to next year! 🎠🎉

We also recognized Oxford Police Sergeant Keith Buinauskas and Officer Jose Taverner for their outstanding work in responding to the incident.

Congratulations and, most importantly, thank you for your diligence, quick thinking, and dedication to protecting our community. Your efforts make a difference and help keep Oxford safe! 👏💙

Today, we welcomed Avia Flight Training School to the Waterbury–Oxford Airport! Representing Oxford were First Selectman George Temple, Selectman and State Representative Arnold Jensen, and Superintendent of Schools Ralph Marino Jr.

Having a flight school right here in Oxford creates exciting career opportunities for adults and our high school graduates, while giving students the chance to explore careers in aviation and gain valuable skills close to home.

We’re excited to welcome Avia Flight Training School and look forward to the opportunities it will bring to our community! ✈️
