Early symptoms of dementia often include memory loss, difficulty with communication, mood changes, and challenges in performing everyday tasks.

If you are helping to care for a friend or loved one with dementia, you have probably noticed them acting frustrated due to their symptoms.

In fact, you may also be feeling frustrated based on your own perspective of this difficult situation.

But what if you could take a walk in their shoes, for just an hour, to see the situation from their perspective?

Well, actually, you can. Call the Owosso Senior Center at 989.723.8875 to get registered for your FREE 60-minute Virtual Dementia Tour. And don't forget to ask us about our monthly Alzheimer's Support group designed for caregivers and loved ones of people facing dementia & Alzheimer's.

It's not the hottest it's ever been outside, but the temps are surprisingly high for this time of year. 🌞

We encourage everyone to wear their sunscreen, stay hydrated and take frequent rests under the shade or indoors... And we want to remind everyone that the Owosso Senior Center is a Community Cooling Center open to anyone who needs a place to be when their own home is oppressively warm. We are open Monday - Friday, 8:30 am until 4:30 pm, we have regulated air, guest wifi, bathrooms, coffee for a quarter, and friendly people. 😁

And there are other places around the county who serve the same purpose - check out the poster below!

Long-term care planning is crucial for ensuring access to necessary care, protecting financial assets, and providing peace of mind for individuals and their families.

On Tuesday, June 9th at 10AM, the Owosso Senior Center will be hosing James Mundy, founder and partner at CORE Financial, as he shares information and insight about Long Term Care (LTC) options.

This is a great presentation for both seniors and their families - and there is still time to give us a call, (at 989.723.8875), to save your seat if you'd like to attend. πŸ’—
