Shiawassee Youth Advisory Council

Shiawassee Youth Advisory Council YAC is open to 12-21 year olds in the Shiawassee County area. YAC members also participate in several community service projects.

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is part of the Shiawassee Community Foundation and is funded by the W K Kellogg Foundation to promote youth leadership, community service & youth development. Through the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) students in Greater Shiawassee County are empowered to make positive change in our community. There are over 86 groups of young people all over Michigan work through c

ommunity foundations to help people they don't even know! YAC members have the privilege, through a grant from the Kellogg Foundation, of reading dozens of grant applications and making decisions about how to distribute thousands of dollars. YAC members normally meet at least once a month during the school year (normally on Sunday afternoon). If you have any questions, please call the SCF office at 989-725-1093.

Shiawassee YAC won the Chamber Heart of Shiawassee tonight! Claire and Kennedy Jones represented the 35 members who truly deserve the award.
