The Owen County Clerk’s Office will be closed Friday, July 3rd 2026 in observance to Independence Day. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend and we will see you back in the office on Monday!

The Owen County Clerk’s Office will be closing at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 16,2026 to attend the funeral of the former County Attorney, Charlie Carter. Please keep the Carter family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

The drawling for ballot positions for these races will be held Thursday, June 4,2026 at 2:00 PM.

Deadline to file is next Tuesday at 4:00!

The deadline to file for School Board if you reside within School Board District 2(Monterey and Gratz) and School Board District 5 (Wheatley, New Liberty and Bromley) is June 2nd, 2026 at 4:00 PM.

Also the deadline to file for City Council or Mayor for Owenton, Gratz and Sparta is also June 2nd, 2026 at 4:00 PM.

The Owen County Board of Elections will be conducting the state mandated hand to eye post election audit for the 2026 Primary Election tomorrow May 21, 2026 at 8:00 AM in the Owen County Clerk’s Office.

The Owen County Clerk’s Office will be opening at 1:00 PM tomorrow, May 20,2026 to allow staff time to sort and put away all Election equipment and supplies and to send in election reports. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
