There is a scam circulating where individuals receive calls from someone claiming they are with the Owen County Sheriff’s Office in regard to missing jury duty and threatening arrest if payment isn’t made. We will never call you about a fine demanding payment. Please hang up or ignore the message and do not give out any personal information.

This morning the Sheriff’s Office participated at the Owen County High School career day. We had the opportunity to interact with the students and show them some of our special equipment that we sometime use in our line of work. We would like to thank the High school for the opportunity.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ 🚨

The Owen County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam targeting residents.

Scammers are calling individuals while falsely claiming to be supervisors with the Owen County Sheriff’s Office. These callers are telling victims they have an overdue court summons and are requesting personal information and/or payment to “resolve” the issue.

PLEASE BE ADVISED:
• Deputies will NOT call you to request personal information regarding court summons.
• Deputies will NOT ask for payment over the phone.
• Do NOT provide any personal information or send money under any circumstances.

If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and report it to the Owen County Sheriff’s Office at 502-484-3363.

Thanks to a grant from the Ky Attorney General’s Office, our Office was awarded with rifle rated ballistic armor, a shield and helmets. Each Deputy will be equipped with these at no cost to the Sheriff’s Office.
