Love Thy Neighbor Food Bank & Clothes Closet

We provide clothing and non-perishable food items to community members who are in need due to financial distress from loss of income, natural disaster, or other life altering circumstances. We also strive to help families who are meeting the needs of children displaced from their home during family crisis. Love Thy Neighbor Food Bank is stocked with donated non-perishable food items. Donated food

or monetary gifts come from corporate grocer donations, government programs such as the USDA, local food drives, or personal gifts to the Pantry. Love Thy Neighbor Clothing Bank is filled with donated new or gently used clothing. Donated clothing is provided by individuals, donations by corporate retail organizations, or through monetary donations with which needed items are purchased. Guests are referred to Love Thy Neighbor Food and Clothing Bank through local community agencies and congregation members of South Gibson Apostolic Church. Guests who have not been referred can meet with the in-house referral agent by leaving a name and number at 812-729-7231, after which an appointment will be scheduled with the referral agent. Community agencies can call the South Gibson Apostolic Church at 812-729-7231 and ask to speak with the Director Amanda Wildt or Pastor James Freels. The name of the angency, the name of guest, and the telephone number of the guest should be left after the recorded message, and the guest will be contacted to schedule an appointment.
