Join us for our first Coffee with a Candidate on May 7!

The Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce is excited to introduce this new event designed to help voters connect directly with candidates running for office in Daviess County. Following Rooster Booster, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one conversations with candidates in a structured, small-group setting, allowing time to ask questions and learn more ahead of the primary election.

The event will be held at the Owensboro Convention Center immediately following Rooster Booster. RSVP is required for all candidates by May 4. All attendees must be registered for the May Rooster Booster, sponsored by New Beginnings. Rooster Booster registration will be live in the upcoming weeks.

This event provides an additional opportunity to strengthen civic engagement and connect with those seeking to serve our community.

The City of Owensboro HRC (Owensboro Human Relations Commission) gets quadruple the number of inquiries and complaints than the state level entity for our county, which shows a need and a preference for OHRC over KHR for our community.

In September every single Commissioner was told by our then Interim Director Rhondalyn Rqndolph, now permanent and running for office, that there were FIVE HUNDRED PLUS Unlistened TO VOICEMAILS for our Commission… that’s unacceptable.

Since then, we have gotten at least 40 inquiries/complaints since I’ve been on the Commission. That means our Commission has received at least 500+ inquiries and investigations directly to our commission in 2025, we do NOT have a work agreement with KHR to send them our cases and work them jointly, and I’ve heard directly from someone who has applied since Rhondalyn has been employed by the Commission that she specifically lied and manipulated her to not file a case properly for investigation through the OHRC. Additionally, I have received every single training offered by KHR except one, and I have only seen Rhondalyn at one of those trainings since she was hired in August/September. How can we investigate if there is no complaint form, our employees are not taking their trainings, and we aren’t holding people accountable?

We must get rid of Executive Director Rhondalyn Randolph and ask City of Owensboro to start holding the OHRC accountable.
